Become a Volunteer

Port Macquarie Landcare supports people caring for the environment, farmland and natural resources of our local region.

People may contribute to Port Macquarie Landcare Group in one or more of the following ways:

  • Bushland working bee volunteer (Activities include: weeding, planting, maintaining tools/equipment, Landcare shed or driving and/or maintaining the Landcare equipment van)
  • Nursery volunteer (Activities include: propagating plants, nursery maintenance, plant sales, seed collection, procurement of supplies... )
  • Administrative volunteer (Helping with administrative tasks including: official roles on committee such as president, secretary, treasurer, nursery manager, project officers, publicity officer)
  • Financial supporter (Those who contribute membership fee or make donations as a passive member. )
  • Volunteers are asked to pay Port Macquarie Landcare Group's annual membership fee ($15) to help cover costs for materials and transport.

Our volunteers are busy on public land in many locations in and around Port Macquarie and the Hastings Valley. Try us out on one of our Landcare days (see brochure) and then become a volunteer by completing the form given to you by the Landcare Project Manager at the Landcare site.

We have working bees:

  • Tuesdays each week (starting around 8.30am finishing before noon)
  • Sundays once a month (starting around 8.30am finishing before noon)

We encourage you to donate the amount of time that suits and you are under no obligation to come regularly. We will provide you with all equipment and training required, so come along and join us.

Become a Member

Annual Membership - $15 Per Year.

Paid via Credit Card.

To pay your membership, you can choose one of the following:

  1. You can pay your annual membership of $15 through online bank transfer to the Port Macquarie Landcare Group PayID ,quoting your Surname and Initial in the Description or Reference for the transaction.

  2. You can pay for renewed membership by visiting the Landcare Nursery on Monday mornings between 9am and noon at 22 Blackbutt Rd Port Macquarie (behind the National Parks & Wildlife Service Office. At the nursery you may pay by credit/debit card or cash.

Note: Membership fees will become due each 1st July. The membership of any new member who joins after 1st April, will be carried over to the end of the following financial year.
