SE Aust. rainforest tree, 8-15m tall in cultivation, larger in the wild. Cylindrical trunk with soft corky bark, greyish fawn in colour. The base of the tree is usually buttressed. Attractive foliage and profuse white flowers in late spring. Full or part sun in moist welldrained soil. Young plants prefer some protection.
