Interesting tree, 8-10m tall. Sweet, edible figs. Not a strangler fig and without the aggressive reputation of other figs. A useful tree, particularly for river bank revegetation. Hardy and fast growing. Birds are attracted to the fruit. Food plant for the caterpillars of the Purple Moonbeam butterfly (Philiris innotatus).
