Hardy, open shrub, 3-4m tall. Stiff, sharply-serrated leathery leaves with prominent veins. Small fragrant yellow flowers are followed by clusters of ovoid, black fruit in Spring-Summer. Well-drained, sunny or shaded position. Food plant for the Regent Skipper butterfly.
